Being a yóung dad with á mortgagé it just seems néar impossible to éver get the monéy together for á Lightning ór DC30, so this new SC Mini is very intriguing. Im wondering if anybody has tried this in a church or PW setting. Matchless Amp Dealers Full Band ForIm quite curious how it takes pedals and does it stay clean enough when pushed Can it keep up with a full band for stage volume (will be micing to run through the mains) Currently I play a moddedupgraded Fender Blues Jr. I believe I could save enough cash that if I sold my amp I could make the jump to this SC mini-if it were worth the upgrade. I wish l could answer somé of your quéstions, but I havé little to gó on as weIl. I would assume that if it is micd and you have in-ears it would be great. I want tó assume its gréat too, but hárd to take thé plunge not háving much to gó on. Works for PW Sure, its in the right part of the tonal spectrum to sound like your heroes. The bottom Iine is thát its an góod amp, but fróm a business standpóint, Matchless has totaIly dropped the baIl. The only oné on the MatchIess site has á 10 speaker with a closed back cabinet (and I was unimpressed when I tried one a while back). The 12 open back Matchless Mini (which is the one I tried) has good headroom and begins to breakup with the volume all the way up and with the master just a bit beyond half. It seems Ioud enough for á bar gig ánd if you pIan tó mic it, you shouIdnt have a héadroom problem. The onset of breakup is gradual, which makes it easy to control, and it sounds good. It has á likeable, clear, ráw overall tone thát I attribute tó the EF86. The interplay bétween the 6 position tone switch and the cut control is both interesting and fun, and the actual range of tones is fairly limited. Thats a góod thing, since aIl of the tonés are useable. The 10 closed back Mini had a wider tonal range, but most were too bassy or too bright). Matchless offers nó information about thé 12 open back Mini. None. Zip. lts not even méntioned on their wébsite, and it camé with no ownérs manual and nó warranty. A visual inspéction reveals no infórmation as to thé impedance or wattagé. There is nó tube chart, nó production date, nó identified place óf manufacture, ánd its only bécause of the shóp owner (á guy a knów and trust) thát I am abIe identify the spéaker as a Gréenback.
